How to update YOUtools on Windows

Step 1: Save all PowerPoint work and close all PowerPoint windows.
Step 2: Uninstall YOUtools*.
Step 3: Download the latest version using the button above.
Step 4: Install the new version.

How to update YOUtools on OSX

Step 1: Click the Check Now button in the YOUtools ribbon tab.
Step 2: If an update is available, click the Update button.
Step 3: Once the update has been downloaded and installed, restart PowerPoint.

If the automatic update cannot be completed, download the latest version from above and follow the PDF instructions to install YOUtools.

*Uninstalling YOUtools from Windows

For installations made via the Setup_YOUtools.exe installer, you may uninstall YOUtools in one of two ways:

Windows Start Button

1. Click the Start button
2. Click All Programs
3. Select the YOUtools group
4. Click Uninstall YOUtools
5. Follow the on-screen instructions

Windows Control Panel

1. Open the Windows Control Panel (on most machines this is found under the Start/Programs list but refer to Windows Help if it is not)
2. Open Add or Remove Programs
3. Select YOUtools and click Remove
4. Follow the on-screen instructions

For manual installations made prior to the Setup_YOUtools.exe installer:

1. Start PowerPoint
2. Click File / Options / Add-ins
3. Select the YOUtools add-in at the top of the window and note it’s folder location in the lower part of the window
4. In Manage drop down, select PowerPoint Add-ins
5. Click the Go… button
6. Select the YOUtools add-in and click Remove, followed by Close
7. Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the folder location in step #3 above
8. Delete the YOUtools.ppam file
