How to disable the PowerPoint slide show popup toolbar
Symptom
When running a slide show with an ActivePresentation navigation strip at the bottom of the screen, the PowerPoint Popup Toolbar prevents you from accessing items in your menu bar at the bottom left hand side of the screen as shown below.
Cause
This is the default behaviour of PowerPoint 2003, 2007 and 2010.
Fix
Follow the steps below to disable the Popup Toolbar in PowerPoint:
PowerPoint 2010

- Select the File tab or press Alt+F key combination.
- Click Options button in the left pane
- Select Advanced in the left pane.
- In the Slide Show section uncheck the Show popup toolbar option.
- Click OK.

PowerPoint 2007
|
- Select the Office Button or press Alt+F key combination.
- Click PowerPoint Options button.
- Select Advanced in the left pane.
- In the Slide Show section uncheck the Show popup toolbar option.
- Click OK.

PowerPoint 2003
|
- Select Tools followed by Options.
- Click the View tab.
- In the Slide Show section uncheck the Show popup toolbar option.
- Click OK.
